MIIS Holiday Food Drive

It’s that time of year once again…
the MIIS Holiday Food Drive is about to begin!

Join Monterey Institute students, staff and faculty in the 9th annual holiday food drive,
with our campus goal of one lb/0.6 kg per person on campus….for a total of 1000 lbs/600 kg!

The food barrels are located in the main lobby of the McCone building.

Please support the 10-day (that’s 10 BUSINESS DAYS!), food drive from December 1-14.

 Did You Know?
For the cost of one fast-food “I’m-too-rushed-to-cook” dinner, you could buy $10 worth of groceries?

Hunger Statistics for Monterey County:
The Food Bank for Monterey County sees an average of 55,300 clients every year, with over 33% being under the age of 18, and 11% being over the age of 65.

Your Cash/Cheque Donations Count Towards Our “Weight Gain!”
For those who may make a cash/cheque donation—every $1 donated allows the Food Bank to purchase $8 of food through their suppliers!

We’ll add up the cash/cheque donations at the end of the drive and add that amount to our contribution.   Please make your cheque donation payable to The Food Bank for Monterey County-contact Leah Gowron at ext 3558 for details/donation envelopes.

Thank you for your generous spirit!
