Martin Grandes, professor of economics and finance at the Pontificia Universidad Catolica Argentina, and Fulbright Scholar this academic year, will join MIIS students and faculty for an informal brown bag lunch discussion on Latin America, global finance, economic development and other topics of interest, on Thursday, February 23, between 12:15 and 1:30. Please note that this meeting will be primarily in Spanish — this is an excellent opportunity to talk about global issues in Spanish.

Professor Grandes will make a presentation entitled “Why Doesn’t Capital Flow From Rich to Poor Countries? 40 Years of  a Paradox” as part of the GSIPM Global Problems and Solutions Colloquium later the same day (and in English!) at 6 pm in McGowan 102.
