Professor Youseff Butt offers his opinion on the prospects of an Israeli attack on Iran and it its estimated repercussions on Iran’s nuclear arms program in an article published in the Christian Science Monitor. Also a nuclear physicist, Dr. Butt combines several years’ experience studying in nuclear policy and weapons proliferation.

An Israeli strike, according to Dr. Butt, can kick start a chain reaction, leading to the expulsion of IAEA officials from Iran, the support of increased militarization, and the race to arm Iran with nuclear weapons. Though the idea is widely unsupported even by top-ranking officials in Israel, the threat of attack is common rhetoric in Netanyahu’s stump speeches.
