MIIS to Host Deferred Action and Immigration Discussion

On Tuesday, October 9th at 6pm in Morse B109, the Global Majority and Amnesty International Student Clubs will host Blanca Zarazua, an immigration attorney from Salinas, California. Mrs. Zarazua will discuss immigration in Monterey County as well as orient on what Deferred Action is and how to apply.

Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals is a new policy introduced by the Obama Admin-istration which allows certain people to live and work in the US even though they may otherwise be subject to removal from the US.

This policy provides for discretionary review on a case-by-case basis and only certain indi-viduals who submit an application and who receive approval may avoid removal for a pe-riod of two years. Attend this event if you would like to learn more about this policy and the procedures you need to follow to apply.
