MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) and radical reform of higher education cannot seem to be discussed separately nowadays. MIIS is investigating and experimenting online course production and launch in order to be well prepared for the potential sea change. Led by Jon Wolfsthal, the Center for Nonproliferation Studies is preparing to launch its first fully integrated online course on Strategic Trade Controls. The efforts, supported by Middlebury and MIIS, are designed to not only educate the course participants but also share learning about online course design, development, and delivery. Jon and his team will present their approach to course development, and engage the seminar attendees to seek input.
