IPSS Assignment: Conservation International – La Paz, Bolivia and Washington, D.C.

Elizabeth was born and raised in upstate New York and graduated from Colby College in Waterville, ME in 2005 with a B.A. in International Studies. Before coming to the Monterey Institute, she worked on a conservation project in Ecuador’s Amazon rainforest and for the Coral Reef Alliance in San Francisco.

Elizabeth has focused her graduate studies on sustainable development, tropical forest conservation, and conservation payments.  She began her IPSS assignment at Conservation International’s (CI) headquarters in Washington, DC and then travelled to La Paz to work in their Bolivia field office. At CI, Elizabeth worked on economic models designed to analyze the effects of different incentives to reduce deforestation in Bolivia.  In her free time, she enjoys hiking, travelling, and eating delicious food.
