CUBA PILOT PROGRAM

Anab with another student and the director of the Literacy Museum in Havana.

I am very happy that I got the chance to experience Cuba through the eyes of its own people. We have been able to talk with assemblymen, activists, directors of cultural centers, artists, and authors. I really appreciate the diverse perspectives that challenge our own perceptions and biases. I really hope I can go back, this time with a purpose and a renewed faith in the power of people to dialogue and understand each other’s perspectives. This trip has showed me that no political divide or agenda will ever surpass the capacity for us to find the common grounds, and work towards solidarity and understanding.
