China Dream Practicum

It was an exciting and meaningful experience to better understand how the current development of China during this trip. Not only have we visited several amazing place, such as Tsinghua University, Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, and Tencent Headquarters, but also we have learned many interesting viewpoints about the development of China in various fields.

Although I originally grew up in China, I never had such precious opportunity to better understand the current development of my country. One thing really surprises me was that the site visit in the Tencent Headquarters in Shenzhen. The staff showed us an AI technology called “腾讯觅影”, which combines image recognition, big data processing, and deep learning. Under the help of this technology, doctors can understand the case more effectively and improve the rate of diagnosis and treatment. Image that if this technology can be successfully applied into real life, millions of Chinese people would benefit from. Without the chance from this field research to see this technology with my own eyes, I could not imagine that China’s technology has developed to this level, and I would not know how great development of China currently.
