DPMI Rwanda

DPMI Rwanda was an incredible experience that cultivated exploration, cross-cultural collaboration, and dynamic learning within a professional setting. It was a unique experience where we gained extensive specialized training while also partaking in amazing activities such as going on safari, spending the afternoon at a beautiful lake, visiting a women’s opportunity center and a non profit that assists street children in Kigali.

The experience began in the capital Kigali where we explored the city and spent an intense afternoon at the Genocide museum. We then traveled to the Eastern Province to a small village called Rwinkwavu where we participated in the DPMI Course. After class we would go on hikes around the village, play basketball with school kids, and watch the sunset. After the 10-day DPMI Course, a few of us traveled to the western part of the country to Lake Kivu. We were able to attend a street dance performance, take a day trip around the lake, visit hot springs, and enjoy the local cuisine. Overall, it was an incredibly diverse and memorable trip that fused professional training and exciting travel opportunities. Rwanda is a country that is easy to travel around and I highly recommend taking advantage of opportunities to explore different parts of the country before and after the DPMI Course experience.
