After showing a real-time video of the 9/11 attacks on YouTube, I had each student write down one word describing their initial reaction to the clip as if they were seeing it for the first time. Several of the words were then reviewed and discussed as a group to try and determine the various reactions of average viewers toward social media depictions of events such as terror attacks.
