I currently work as Student Advisor for international students at Intrax, an English language school based in San Francisco, California. As Student Advisor, I specialize in managing accommodations and a special program for Korean students called WEST. For more information on my responsibilities, see the Intrax tab.

In addition to my work, I am in the process of completing my Master of Arts in International Education Management from the Monterey Institute of International Studies. My program included two semesters on campus, completed by a practicum. I will receive my degree in December, 2014.

My eventual professional goal is to work for a study abroad program or English language program in France. The city of Lyon, France, where I have lived for three years, holds a special place in my heart. I would love to work either in Lyon or in a partnership with a university there, managing student mobility.

I’m originally from Portland, Oregon. I graduated from Oregon State University in March of 2012 with a degree in French Language and Literature. During my time at Oregon State, I studied abroad in a direct exchange program in Lyon, France, through the Oregon University System. There I acquired interest in International Education, so I applied and was accepted with a scholarship for an IE3 Global Internship where I worked at a study abroad institute and language learning institute in Lyon. I mainly assisted arriving students with settling in and managing coursework. I also organized events and activities for students. For my main activity, I helped guide a group of International Business students on a four-day tour of the Loire Valley in France.

After this internship, I returned to the Corvallis campus to complete my degree, and worked at the Study Abroad office on campus. I advertized study abroad opportunities to students and led information fairs. I also co-founded a new club on campus, SAGL (Study Abroad and Global Learning) that encouraged students to expand their options for global learning. After commencement I spent a third year in Lyon as an English teaching assistant; I strongly encouraged my students to spend time abroad in an English speaking country.
