R & R Commander basics

To load data from .rda file: Data –> Load data set…

To load data from other files: Data –> Import data… –> select the proper file type

To view a quick summary of the data:

  1. Statistics –> Summaries –> Active Data Set
  2. Statistics –> Summaries –> Numerical Summaries
    Here you see the same descriptions as above, but you can change the variables you see.

  3. Statistics –> Summaries –> Count Missing Observations

To view your data in a graph:

  1. Graphs –> Histogram (aka a bar graph)
  2.  

  3. Graphs –> Boxplot
  4. Graphs –> Scatterplot (select only the Least Squares Line)

Now you can use several tests to analyze and interpret your data:

  1. Chi-square:
    1. Statistics –> Contingency Tables –> Two Way Tables
  2. T-tests
    1. Statistics –> Means –> Single Sample T-test
    2. Statistics –> Means –> Independent Samples T-test
    3. Statistics –> Means –> Paired T-test
  3. ANOVA
    1. Statistics –> Means –> One-way ANOVA
    2. Statistics –> Means –> Mutli-way ANOVA
