International Leadership Council Panel Discussions TODAY

From 1:40-3:15 today, all students are welcome to attend a panel discussion with members of the Monterey Institute International Leadership Council. MBA students should find the discussions of Social and Corporate Entrepreneurship (taking place in Morse B104) and Business & Emerging Markets (taking place in the McCone Boardroom) to be particularly interesting and pertinent to their business studies at MIIS.

First Happy Hour Speaker Series TOMORROW @ 4pm

The Happy Hour Speaker Series is a one-hour event before each MIIS Happy Hour where students can have an interactive dialogue with today’s business leaders. Tomorrow’s theme is recent Fisher MBA graduates. Joanie Baczewski and Cameron Jahn (see bios below) will join us to explain how they got their job, what they can recommend for finding a job in the tough market, and how their education at MIIS has helped get them to where they are today.

September 23rd San Francisco Fisher MBA Alumni Event

The Bay Area Fisher MBA Alumni Association has invited all current MBA students to an awesome event at the U.S. Green Building Council in San Francisco on September 23rd at 6:30 pm. Not only are we afforded the opportunity to meet alumni but there is a lecture on career building; this is clearly a win-win situation not to be missed! Please RSVP at http://miisevent923.eventbrite.com/ and contact Amanda Plump regarding carpool information from Monterey at aplump@miis.edu. See you there!

PHOTO UPDATE: Thanks to the San Francisco Fisher Alumni for inviting us to the event on Friday and thanks to all of the current students who attended! Stay tuned for details on the next opportunity to meet with Fisher MBA alumni in October.

It’s time to dust off your boat shoes, because:

the MBA Student Association invites you to join us on Saturday, September 10th at 1pm to sail around the Monterey Bay.

Don’t know a starboard from a port? No problem! Monterey Sailing professionals will be taking the helm. $39 per person is steep, but can you really put a price on quality time with fellow MBA students while enjoying the breath-taking central coast from your very own vessel? Clearly, this experience is not to be missed!

Monterey sailing needs to hear from us a week in advance. So, please RSVP to us at miis.mba@gmail.com by Friday, September 2nd or sign up at the wine tasting tonight.

See you there!

PHOTO UPDATE: Saturday was the perfect day for a sail–one of Monterey’s nicest in memory. Thanks to everyone who joined us!
