    • Allows anyone to search our courses by subject area, keyword, professor, start time, day of the week, etc.

Web Strategy Team Meeting 9/9

Rebecca is back! And Maureen, too!

Rebecca will be assisting with the Academics section of the site; Maureen will be working on videos for the virtual campus tour

Rebecca’s content inventory/audit

New drop-up menu content

  • New featured stories under About, Admissions, Academics, and Careers
  • How can we create a system to get these updated more frequently? Should we create guidelines for updates [ex. update them once every three weeks and ensure a balance of stories across programs and constituencies (students, alumni, & faculty)]?

Updates from Jason

Middlebury-Monterey Integrated Degree Programs

We are looking at strategies for promoting the integrated degree programs on the Midd and MIIS sites and will be continuing that discussion next week.

Kristen and Rebecca noticed that Middlebury already does a great job explaining the requirements for their students (and alumni who qualify) to complete the five year integrated program.

We were thinking that the integrated degree programs page could then could link to Middlebury’s content but also highlight the uniqueness of our programs (their value added) and maybe even appeal to an audience of students searching for Bachelor degree programs (i.e. complete your Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in five years by applying to Middlebury!). And it would of course link to contact information for the appropriate enrollment managers.

Feedback needed

  • Bob presents work on TLC/DMC pages
  • Is Blogs@MIIS appropriate discussion for the web strategy team? Or do we need a sub-group?
    • Group would discuss new functionality needs (themes, plugins, etc.)
  • Knowledge Base blog — how should it be organized to best serve our campus?

Links have been changing

  • Upcoming changes to Academics section means you will no longer be able to link to individual Drupal course nodes
  • Split up into groups and check for broken links on each other’s section of the site
