About

Thirteen students from the Monterey Institute of International Studies and two students from Middlebury College will participate in the course entitled Challenges to Peacebuilding in Nepal in January 2012. The course is led by Dr. Pushpa Iyer, Assistant Professor at the Monterey Institute of International Studies.  The group will travel for two weeks to Nepal – from January 10 to January 24, 2012. There will be pre-departure meetings and debrief sessions on return. In Nepal, the group will conduct interviews with individuals and organizations currently working on peacebuilding as well as visit locations and monuments with historical significance to the conflict and the country as a whole.  The majority of students have a strong understanding of Peacebuilding or will have, after completing relevant coursework this semester. We will all be contributing to this blog to document our experiences on the field and to share our thoughts as we immerse ourselves in its preparation.  We hope you will follow us in our journey.
