The role of Brazil in the global transition to a low carbon economy: transformations and paradoxes

Professor Viola spoke at the Global Problems and Solutions Colloquium on Emerging Markets on April 5, 2012 at the Monterey Institute of International Studies. The title of his speech was “The role of Brazil in the global transition to a low carbon economy: transformations and paradoxes.”

Professor Eduardo Viola is Full Professor at the Institute of International
Relations, University of Brasilia. He has published extensively on
issues of Globalization and Governance, Democracy and Democratization
in South America and, International Political Economy of Climate
Change. Dr. Viola has been visiting professor in several international
universities, among them: Stanford, Colorado, Notre Dame and
Amsterdam. The most important Brazilian TV channels, news radios and
newspapers interview Dr. Viola frequently.
