This blog is designed to showcase the field research and internships of Monterey Institute students during the summer of 2011. Whether you’re a Center for the Blue Economy Fellow in Ecuador, a Peace Corps volunteer in Moldova, or a Fulbright awardee in Jordan, we hope that you share reflective pieces, photos, and video clips here.     Como em muitos outros países, há mais de três décadas na Espanha, era comum que todos os bebês tivessem um nome semelhante. Não apenas pelo significado do próprio nome, mas também pela tradição de repetir o nome em homenagem a outro membro da família. Segundo o INE, os Nomes diferentes letra bnomes mais comuns no Brasil são José, Manuel, María e Mari Carmen.

    Os cinco nomes mais usados ​​para meninos até a década de 1960 eram José, Antonio, Manuel, Francisco e Juan. A tendência começou a mudar na década de 1970, quando o nome de David liderou a lista, seguido por Antonio, Francisco Javier, Manuel e José Antonio. Já nas décadas de 80 e 90, Javier, Sergio, David e Alejandro apareciam nas primeiras posições. Este último prevaleceu por 20 anos, nos anos 90 e até 2009. Somente a partir de 2010, é que surgiram nomes menos frequentes como Daniel, Hugo, Pablo ou Álvaro.

    Ainda não temos os dados de 2014, mas sabemos que Hugo, Daniel, Pablo, Alejandro e Álvaro, os Top 5 de 2013, continuam fortes.

    Em relação ao nome das meninas, a tendência é semelhante à dos meninos. María, Carmen, Josefa, Dolores e Francisca eram os nomes mais frequentes até 1950. A partir da década de 1950, nomes compostos como Mari Carmen, María Dolores, Ana María ou María José começaram a aparecer. Apenas no início dos anos 70, outros nomes começam a aparecer no topo da lista: Monica e Cristina.
