Come be a part of MIIS’s efforts to reach our goal of carbon neutrality by 2016! MIIS is partnering with the Return of the Natives program at CSUMB and the Bureau of Land Management to reforest a section of abandoned land at Fort Ord with native Oak trees, which will offset the Institute’s annual carbon emissions.  Last Fall, MIIS students collected acorns at Fort Ord and have been raising them at the Our Green Thumb garden on campus.  These seedlings have gotten too big now and need to be transplanted into bigger pots so they can keep growing until we can plant them in the ground in the Springtime.
