Product Stewardship Week is Now Underway!

Net Impact and The Student Sustainability Council will have a table outside of Samson from 12-2 everyday this week to promote Product Stewardship Week. GREEN2 will pay MIIS $1 for every television, computer, monitor or LCD that is collected. We will also be collecting various waste electronics, ink cartridges, CFLs and batteries for drop-off at Best Buy, Staples, Home Depot and KeepSafe Storage.

The clubs will also feature Terra Cycle collection (a permanent bin to be located in Samson soon). A local not-for-profit, the Hilton Bialek Habitat will recieve .02 cents per candy wapper, beauty product (ie. shampoo bottles, old eyeliners, foundation, hairspray bottles, ect.), #5 plastics (ie. Solo cups), ink cartridges of all brands, and tape dispensers of any brand or any size. The Hitlon Bialek Habitat focuses on environmental education in Carmel Valley and for disadvantaged youth throughout Monterey County. WIN PRIZES! When you drop off a piece of waste, you will be entered into a drawing to win cool prizes! Reduce Waste, Win Prizes and Earn Cash for local causes!

Open to MIIS community (including students, faculty, and staff), club members and the Monterey community.
