Student Application Criteria

Interested applicants will need to meet the following criteria. Space for this program will be limited to 8-15 participants. Please contact the faculty leader and your academic advisor if you have any questions about meeting the eligibility requirements.

Required:

  • There is a language component to this program. In order to be considered for the program, applicants must demonstrate French language proficiency at the intermediate level in order to respect Middlebury’s Language Pledge onsite.
  • Applicants must be in current academic good standing during application and at the time of program departure in January 2018, as well as meeting all  academic and program registration criteria as required by MIIS.  Interested applicants are highly recommended to consult with their CACS advisor and check with both the Registrar and Financial Aid offices to ensure accounts are up to date and that no outstanding balances are due.
  • Interested applicants will be interviewed by the faculty program leader to see determine whether the program aligns with their academic, professional and personal goals.

Preferred:

  • Applicants with a focus on International Education Management (IEM, IEM/MPA, or other degree program with IEM Specialization) who display a strong interest education abroad specifically
  • Career goals related to U.S. Education Abroad

Students must submit a complete application by the deadline to be considered for the program.   Students who meet the program criteria will be invited to participate in an interview with the faculty leader as part of the application process.

This is the first step in the application process. All interested applicants will also interview with the program’s faculty leader to be considered for this program.  Interviews will be scheduled late Sept – early October.  Applicants will be notified of program acceptance by mid to late October.

Applications must be submitted by Sunday, September 16th for full consideration.
