The Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey offers its students a wide range of professional degrees to prepare them for a variety of international careers. The Institute’s 750 students come from more than 50 countries around the world and together with the faculty share a deep interest in, and commitment to, global engagement and cross-cultural communication.

Since its founding in 1955, the Institute has developed leading programs in several diverse fields of study. Today it is home to a wide range of research centers and initiatives, including the world-renowned James Martin Center for Nonproliferation Studies and the newly established Center on Terrorism, Extremism, and Counterterrorism. The Financial Crime Management program is available as a specialization for all degree students, and as a stand-alone certificate for mid-career professionals.
