Localizing a Video Game Poster from Japanese to English

In this project, I localized an arcade video game poster for the game Ongeki Bright, made by SEGA. This poster was taken from their website for arcade operators. There were three versions of the poster, one with the release date for the game, one with the dates blanked out so arcade operators can fill in their own date, and one that said “running with favorable reviews”, or in more simpler terms, “out now”. They all were in PDF format, and were A3 size.

[Adv. Translation Technology] Machine Translation Team Project

This is a machine translation group project done with Shihping Liang, Andrew Taylor, Satoko Achiha, and Katie Shasteen. In this project, we trained a machine translation engine to translate character dialogue from the video game Fate/Grand Order from Japanese to English, using previously translated dialogue from the game and subtitles from Japanese animated films. We also created a survey with the results to gauge the machine translation’s quality.

[Translation Technology] EN-ZH regex use cases for Trados QA Checker/Find and Replace

This is a team project I finished with Yen Ting Low and Shihping Liang in the Translation Technology course, with Sabrina Li and Xiaoxin Damerow as reviewers. In this project, we compiled a few usages of regex in Trados that could be helpful while working on the language pair of Chinese and English.
