Greetings from the Office of Student Services and the Outdoor Recreation Club! We are excited you will be joining the MIIS student body, and we are pleased to invite you on the First-semester Outdoor Orientation Trip (FOOT). We believe FOOT will be a great way for you to meet other first-semester students while learning the Monterey Way from your new MIIS peers. A group of returning students from MIIS’s Outdoor Recreation Club leads the trip. Our goal is to provide a fun outdoor experience and combine it with a unique opportunity for community building. What better way to ease into graduate school than with a fun camping trip!
We look forward to welcoming you to campus soon!

Pinnacles National Park
Pinnacles National Park is a U.S. National Park protecting a mountainous area located east of the Salinas Valley in Central California, about an hour and a half drive from Monterey. It is a great place to go rock climbing and hiking through the remnants of an old volcano. Hiking among the high peaks, you can see a variety of wildlife such as California Condors. Furthermore, the hiking paths take you through a small system of caves.
