Halfway through my Master’s in International Environmental Policy at the Monterey Institute of International Studies, I am halfway around the world working as a Center for the Blue Economy Summer Fellow with the International Union for the Conservation of Nature.  Based in Amman, Jordan, the IUCN’s Regional Office for West Asia has asked for support developing a project that would address the challenges posed by marine alien invasive species in Middle Eastern and North African seas.  I will work in this capacity to create a project proposal, developing my project design abilities and my facility with the Arabic language and intercultural collaboration through meetings with regional partners.
