Alex Becker

Alex Becker earned a B.A. magna cum laude from the University of Colorado at Boulder in 2006 after defending his thesis on 20th century comparative German politics. During college, he was an exchange student for a year at the University of Regensburg in Germany.  In 2010 he earned a J.D. from Widener University School of Law where he was awarded the certificate of achievement in alternative dispute resolution and wrote extensively on climate change law. Since May 2011, Alex has served as president of the Fisher International MBA Student Association at the Monterey Institute.

 

 

Alex grew up in St. Charles, Illinois, speaks German fluently, and enjoys skiing, road cycling, attending classical music concerts, and staying up to date on the real estate and automobile markets. He has been a political science research assistant, a ski instructor, an intern at a Middle Eastern oil company law department, and a legal consultant for an internet start-up. For more than ten years, Alex has also been a consultant for buyers and sellers of European sports cars.

 

Alex’s professional interests lie in the alternative energy and automotive industries. His goal is to work as a business strategist for a global company in Europe, Asia, or the United States.

 

While at the Monterey Institute, Alex completed his IBP assignment at Citrix Online in Santa Barbara. There he worked to develop a go to market strategy for Citrix Online to enter the Asia Pacific region (specifically India, Singapore, South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, and China) with two remote access software as a service products, GoToManage and GoToAssist.
