About Us

The Students for Ethical Governance and Policymaking is a student club at the Monterey Institute of International Studies, located in Monterey, California.

alessandro2c_darina2c_terriEstablished in 2014, this student club aims to bring ethics into the policymaking conversation and to generally introduce the concept of ethical considerations to the next generation of policymakers both here in the United States and abroad.

The Students for Ethical Governance and Policymaking club at the Monterey Institute of International Studies serves to advocate for the inclusion of ethical considerations in modern day governing and policy making at all levels and within all systems. We as students of policy, professionals in multiple fields and conscious human actors choose to believe that the method best suited to justify policies and the legitimacy of those who enact and enforce them is to incorporate, discover and propose ethical and moral quandaries which have been otherwise discounted in modern governance. Therefore, the Students for Ethical Governance and Policymaking take it upon themselves to aggressively combat injustice, to vehemently protect those least well off and above all else hold human life and dignity as the most important factor of all whilst positing these moral considerations.
