Hello there, I’m Star, a happy-go-lucky individual with a deep love for exploration, communication, and the captivating world of languages, cultures, and media.
Since the beginning of my journey, I have been entranced by the beauty and diversity of languages and cultures. My fascination with this intricate tapestry has led me to pursue an academic path that delves into the heart of communication and cultural understanding. I completed my undergraduate studies in English Literature and Language at Zhejiang University, where I laid the foundation for my lifelong passion for words and their expressive power.
My thirst for knowledge and my desire to explore the intersection of languages, cultures, and media led me to pursue two distinguished master’s degree programs. First, I pursued a Master’s in Multimedia Broadcast Journalism from the University of Westminster in London. The program provided me with valuable insights into the power of media in shaping narratives and influencing hearts and minds, allowing me to deepen my storytelling abilities through the creation of impactful radio and video documentaries.
Additionally, I earned another joint Master’s degree in Translation, Interpretation and Localization Management at the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey. This learning journey enabled me to further understand the significance of empathy in bridging cultural communication gaps and fostering effective global interactions.
Working as a Localization Program Manager at TikTok has reinforced my passion for working in the media localization industry, where I believe I can truly contribute to bridging cultural divides and spreading positive energy through powerful narratives. My journey has endowed me with both technical and artistic skills, allowing me to blend creativity with precision in the work I do. As a team player, I thrive in collaborative environments, fostering a culture of effective communication and seamless cooperation with internal and external partners.
