Faculty Spotlight: Sharad Joshi, MonTREP

Sharad Joshi, PhD, Research Associate with the Monterey Terrorism Research and Education Program (MonTREP) and Visiting Professor, Graduate School of International Policy & Management, attended the 13th annual three-week Summer Workshop on the Analysis of Military Operations and Strategies (SWAMOS), held at Cornell University in July, 2009.  The program is for junior scholars in the field of security studies.

Dr. Joshi was previously a postdoctoral fellow from September 2006 to October 2008. His research focuses on international security studies, dealing especially with nuclear proliferation and terrorism research in South Asia.  At GSIPM, Dr. Joshi teaches courses on terrorism and weapons of mass destruction in South Asia. He has worked as a visiting fellow at the Institute for Defense Studies and Analysis, New Delhi (2005), and adjunct instructor at Duquesne University, Pittsburgh (2006). He has also done consulting work on terrorism financing as well as proliferation in South Asia.
