IPB Assignment: Andean Alliance for Sustainable Development – Sacred Valley, Peru

Kopavi was born in Seattle, Washington and raised on the West Coast of the US – Seattle, Portland and Santa Monica.  He received his BA in International Development Studies from UCLA, with a regional focus on Sub-Saharan Africa and the Middle East/North Africa. During this past summer, he completed his International Business Plan in Perú with four other MBA candidates working to develop a for-profit social enterprise. The goal was to create a for-profit company that would support the Andean Alliance for Sustainable Development, a non-profit organization founded entirely by MIIS students.  His main area of interest is in the creation of social enterprise solutions to address development challenges.  He is currently in the process of applying for a dual degree in International Environmental Policy in order to incorporate environmentally sustainable practices into his future work.
