Class Challenge of 2012

Calling all graduates!

Would you like to help future students receive scholarships?

Then come participate in the Class Challenge of 2012!

Alumnus and Board Member, Andrea Gabrielle (MBA ’88), is challenging graduating students!

For every gift of $20 you make, he will match it with $100. That’s $120, a great gesture of charity that will go towards future scholarships. The match will cap at $5,000 and we have only $1,160 left to meet it by the end of December!

How you can participate in the challenge:

Visit the online giving site at http://go.miis.edu, OR

Visit the alumni office today to pick up a gift envelope, OR

Visit the Class Challenge Table donned with a giant thermometer during the following days:

Friday, December 7 from 5-7pm at Samson Courtyard entrance

Saturday, December 8 from 12–1pm at the Commencement Ceremony, Golden State Theatre and from 2-4pm at the Commencement Reception, Samson Center

Special thanks to Bowen Teuscher, Sky Lantz-Wagner, Malcolm Johnson, Neal Pierantoni and Amer Shorab for helping to raise $600 already!

We hope your experience at MIIS has been a unique one – congratulations on your graduation!

Commencement Photography

Randy Tunnell (professional photographer) will be taking photos of you on Saturday. He will take photos of you getting ready at McGowan and at the ceremony. He will take a photo of you receiving your diploma on the stage so be sure to smile and look out when receiving your degree. Additionally, he will have a photo station at the reception in the Samson Center Reading Room from 2-4 p.m. You can take more posed photos and group photos at this station. You may purchase photos from him at the following website: www.collages.net (user name: miis7, password: 11222).

Recycle Your Cap and Gown

If you would like to recycle your cap and gown to the next class of students graduating in the spring, please consider donating it. Drop off your regalia at the Alumni House (Simoneau House) during the reception on Saturday between 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. A drawing will be held in the spring for graduates interested in receiving a donated gown. Gowns may also be dropped off to the Simoneau House during regular business hours anytime after commencement. Thank you for the consideration!

Commencement Rain Plan

In the event of rain, graduates will meet and line up in the upper level of the Golden State Theatre (instead of the McGowan Lobby). Updates about this plan being implemented will be posted on the blog the day of and the the days leading up to commencement.
