Atlas Service Corps Seeks Fellowship Applicants

Atlas Service Corps (Atlas Corps) is an international nonprofit that administers a global exchange of talented nonprofit leaders through an innovative fellowship program. Similar to a “multinational Peace Corps,” Atlas Corps brings skilled individuals from around the world to work for 12 or 18 months at dynamic host organizations in Washington, DC and Baltimore, MD. Likewise, Atlas Corps sends nonprofit leaders from the United States to volunteer abroad.

Atlas Corps is seeking nonprofit leaders from around the world to apply for one of its 2010-2011 fellowship positions in Washington, DC, Baltimore, MD, or Bogotá, Colombia. Applicants must have 3 or more years of experience in the nonprofit sector, a college degree, and fluency in English (and Spanish, if applying to volunteer in Colombia). For more details about eligibility requirements and the application process, please visit:http://www.atlascorps.org/apply.html and watch a short video about the application process here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mx63RKbqoKY. The deadline to apply is November 30, 2009.

Atlas Corps Fellows contribute substantially to the work of their host organizations, learn best practices in nonprofit development, advance a global conversation on social issues, and ultimately return home to continue addressing our world’s most pressing social challenges. The Atlas Corps model, profiled as a “best practice” in international exchange by the Brookings Institution, will eventually create a global network of nonprofit leaders working together on borderless issues such as poverty, hunger, education, women’s empowerment, health, and the environment.
