Twenty years ago, world leaders and NGOs meeting in Rio de janeiro forged a bold new integrated approach to tackling global poverty and environmental degradation — sustainable development. In May 2012, under the shadow of a climate crisis, the world community will come together again. The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and World Watch are working to make the summit a success.
