Fellowships At The Heidelberg Centre For Transcultural Studies

The Heidelberg Centre for Transcultural Studies (HCTS), Germany, is now accepting applications for March 1st or September 1st, 2014. Currently, there are five fellowships available. Visiting fellows will receive a stipend to cover costs of living in Heidelberg. Candidates will have to take up residence in Heidelberg ranging from six months to a full academic year.

Deadline is October 1, 2013. You need to submit a research proposal of 1500 words (max.) and your current CV. The center focuses on three major aspects: 1. Detours—Mediated Circulations of Knowledge; 2. Transcultural Exchanges in a Pre-modern World; and 3. Urban Spaces. Click here for more information on the application process.

The Centre for Trancultural Studies is an Institute for Advanced Studies at the University of Heidelberg. Building on the structures established by the Cluster of Excellence “Asia and Europe in a Global Context,” it is open to scholars especially in the humanities and the social sciences. Founded in April 2013, the Institute assembles scholars from all over the world to engage in an interdisciplinary dialogue and to enhance their understanding of transcultural processes. The institute offers an M.A. and a Doctoral Programme in Transcultural Studies.
