On Wednesday, November 16, our colleagues at Middlebury have offered to include us in an event that promises to be of great interest to a number of members of the MIIS Community.

China Town Hall: National Connections, Local Reflections — U.S.-China Relations and Environmental Politics in China.  This national day of programming on China will be held simultaneously in 50 cities across the United States. Each location will include a webcast lecture by former National Security Advisor Zbigniew Brzezenski, complemented by local programming.  The Middlebury event includes the following components:

1:30 pm Welcoming remarks – President Ron Liebowitz

1:45 pm Lecture by Dr. Christine Boyle (UNC Chapel Hill) – “Understanding China’s Water Crisis: Perils and Progress in North China”

2:30 pm Q&A with Christine Boyle

3-4 pm (Break)

4 pm Webcast lecture by Zbigniew Brzezinski

4:45 pm Q&A Panel with Middlebury Professors John Berninghausen (Chinese) and Jessica Teets and Orion Lewis (Political Science).

Two ways to attend:

(1) Join other MIIS participants in Morse B209, from 1:30-5:30, or any portion of the event.
